Terms of Use

These terms of use apply to the Android app Sentrio IP Cam (package name com.gremlincode.sentrio). By installing and using the app you agree to them.

2. Scope of service

Sentrio IP Cam turns an Android device into a local security camera. Videos, recordings, live images and alerts never leave your local network; storage, remote access or playback through a server operated by the provider is not part of the service. To check the free trial period, the app contacts a service operated by the provider at api.gremlincode.de/sentrio; all that is transmitted is a pseudonymous device identifier, the version of the app and an authenticity token from Google Play, nothing else, and this contact ends entirely once you purchase Premium. The privacy policy describes it in detail.

The camera function is free to use for 3 days once; the period starts at the first camera start. After that, operating the phone as a camera requires the one-time Premium unlock. The purchase is processed through Google Play; the Google Play terms, including their rules on withdrawal and refunds, apply in addition.

3. Acceptable use

You may only monitor areas you are authorised to monitor. In particular:

  • Do not monitor other people's rooms, property or public spaces without permission.
  • Inform people who are regularly recorded (for example flatmates or employees) and obtain any required consent.
  • Covert audio or video recording of third parties may be a criminal offence.

You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply where you use the app, such as privacy and criminal law.

4. Your responsibility for device and network

The camera is accessed over your local network. Protect your Wi-Fi and the web interface with strong passwords and keep the device and the app up to date. The app is a convenience and monitoring tool; it does not replace a professional alarm or security system and is not intended to protect life or high-value property.

5. Warranty and liability

The app is provided as is. There is no promise of specific properties and no guarantee of uninterrupted, error-free operation. You use the app at your own risk.

Any liability of the provider is excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law. This applies in particular to damage caused by missed surveillance, data loss, device wear, or failures of network, device and power supply. Only liability that cannot be excluded by law remains unaffected.

6. Changes

We may update these terms when the app's features or legal requirements change. The current version is linked in the app and available on this page.

7. Final provisions

German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you habitually reside remain unaffected. Should individual provisions be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
