Privacy Policy
Applies to the Android app Sentrio IP Cam (package ID com.gremlincode.sentrio). The website gremlincode.de has its own privacy policy.

2. Principle: your content stays local
Sentrio IP Cam turns an Android smartphone into a LAN IP camera. The app is operated entirely locally: through a web interface the smartphone itself serves on your local network (Wi-Fi), or from a second smartphone on the same network.
The app sends no camera, microphone, usage or content data to us as the developer or operator. There is no Firebase, there are no analytics, tracking or crash-reporting SDKs, there is no push service and no user account. At no point do we receive or see any images, audio or other recordings from your use of the app.
There is exactly one connection to a server of ours, and it has nothing to do with your content: the service for the free trial period (Section 3).
3. Free trial period
The camera function can be tried out free of charge for 72 hours. So that this time window cannot be used repeatedly, a service we operate in Germany/EU stores the following information per device:
- A pseudonymous device identifier that cannot be traced back to your device or your person.
- The start and end of the trial period.
- The version of the app.
Name, e-mail address, account, device model, country and location are not collected; we do not store IP addresses permanently.
The sole purpose is the prevention of abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The information is automatically deleted after 90 days at the latest.
Authenticity check via Google Play
This uses the Play Integrity API to check whether the request comes from a genuine Android device running the unmodified app from the Play Store. In this respect, Google is a recipient; the Google privacy policy applies. We do not store the result of this check. The purpose and legal basis are the same as for the trial period itself.
This service does not touch videos, recordings, live images or alerts.
4. Camera, microphone and recordings
The camera and microphone are used solely locally to produce the live stream or recordings. Recordings (video, photo, time-lapse) remain on the device by default. Data only leaves your device if you actively set this up yourself:
- NAS upload: You can configure the optional upload to your own network-attached storage (NAS) via SMB, FTP or SFTP. You define the target device, credentials and transfer path yourself; we have no access to it.
- E-mail notification: You can optionally enable an e-mail notification on motion or sound detection. It is sent via your own SMTP server that you configure, not via any server of ours.
In both cases, you alone determine the destination of the data transfer.
5. Live stream
The live video stream runs via WebRTC directly between your smartphone and the requesting device (a browser or a second smartphone) within your local network (peer-to-peer). No third-party or our own servers are involved.
6. Purchases (Google Play Billing)
The one-time Premium purchase that keeps the camera usable after the trial period is handled via Google Play Billing. Payment data is processed exclusively by Google; the app itself only receives the purchase status (Premium: yes/no) from Google. 7. App permissions

8. Your rights as a data subject
On our side there is exactly one processing operation: the trial period record described in section 3. In relation to it you have the following rights within the statutory framework:
- Access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Lodging a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)

9. Changes to this policy
We adapt this privacy policy when the app's features or the legal requirements change. The version published on this page at the time applies.
